Class 1 Commercial Drivers

Crop Management Logistics Inc., is an integrated trucking company of Crop Management Network Inc. (CMN). They provide safe and reliable transportation, of liquid and dry fertilizer, to our retail locations and CMN clients. Our retails are located in Central, AB however, the radius of travel may include travel to the US and other out of province locations when required.

The successful candidate will have:
• A valid Class 1 license; with a clean abstract
• Communicate effectively with customers, dispatch, managers and safety.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date log books using our EDL program.
• Perform Inspections and safety checks.
• Excellent customer service and organizational skills.
• Proven experience with driving applicable trucks and trailers.
• Handles all physical requirements for loading, transporting and driving.
• Knowledge and understanding of basic truck maintenance.
• Willingness to comply with all Health, Safety Environmental regulations.

Market Development Agronomist

Overview

With a strong focus on innovation, research and development the Market Development Agronomist (MDA) contributes to the overall growth of Crop Management Network. The MDA promotes the CMN brand by communicating current trends/findings, demonstrating product performance, training staff and supports the Account Managers with the agronomic advice we offer our farmers.

Job Duties
Support
• Advise key farmers and support Account Managers on determining the best cropping practices that will improve economic returns, as well as protect environmental sustainability.
• Provide agronomic and product positioning coaching to the sales team, acting as an expert on CMN’s products.
• Work with Account Managers and producers to encourage soil testing and plant analysis to determine crop nutrient needs and match fertility programs with those needs.
• Along with CMN Account Managers visit existing and potential customer farms and provide field scouting services to better understand customer requirements.
• Participate and coordinate technology transfer and training activities.
• Emphasize product features based on analyses of customers' needs and on technical knowledge of product capabilities and limitations.

External Support/Marketing
• Arrange and participate in advisory information sessions and lectures for farmers and other relevant groups.
• Communicate and represent CMN within the research community to learn of the latest methods for controlling disease, weeds, and insects.
• Work within a Marketing/Sales budget to promote the business, inform our growers, develop/maintain relationships and maintain a presence within our community.
• Arrange and participate in CMN events and act on behalf of CMN at industry events.
• Work with the Director of Sales, Account Managers & Location Managers to identify meaningful promotional offerings to farmers.

Field Testing Programs
• Work with the Director of Sales to connect with manufactures/suppliers to build mutually beneficial relationships when it comes to research and development of their products.
• Coordinate and manage the CMN Trial Committee; identify programs, field testing and trials for new product launches.
• Arrange for farmer visits, send out trial progress reports to Account Managers, maintain trials as needed, and harvest trials.
• Data management, quality review and timely submission of trial results to CMN Account Managers.

Qualifications
• Degree or Diploma in Ag Business/Ag Science
• Preferred a minimum 5 years of experience vocational, agricultural, or a combination of education and work experience
• Possesses CCA or PAg designation, or is working towards achieving it is a definite asset but not required
• Proven strong time management, planning and multi-tasking skills
• Excellent communication and people skills, both written and oral
• Proven strong computer skills including all Microsoft applications (Word, Teams, Excel and Outlook)
• Proven knowledge of sales principles and practices
• Ability to provide a strong focus on customer service and follow through
• Willing to travel to CMN retail locations and CMN customers locations on a regular basis

Account Manager

The Account Managers at CMN have a strong focus on providing reliable advice, products, valued services and innovative methods, of improving and sustaining their customers farm business. They recommend and sell high-quality products, while highlighting those products and services we offer to our customers, that differentiate us from our competitors. Account Managers contribute to the overall growth the business by being innovative in practice and driven to find ways to best serve our customers.

General Duties:
• Strive to maximize on our ability to obtain/sustain customers business, within profit margin.
• Achieve agreed upon sales targets and outcomes
• Coordinate sales effort with team members and the General Manager, to ensure adequate inventory and administratively everything is effectively handled.
• Emphasize product features based on analyses of customers' needs and on technical knowledge of product capabilities and limitations.
• Work within a marketing/sales budget to promote the business, inform our growers, develop/maintain relationships and maintain a presence within our community.
• Develop and maintain effective business relations with current and potential future customers.

• Inform management with reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services.

Experience:
• A preferred minimum 3-5 years sales experience Ag based degree or diploma or demonstrated experience in vocational, agriculture. A combination of education and work experience will be considered

Operations Lead

The Operations Lead is responsible to provide updates on inventory levels; troubleshoot any mechanical issues; schedule and participate in equipment/facility maintenance and inspections; assist with the receipt of fertilizer, seed and chemical to plants the warehouses; coordinate customer pick-up/transfers of product; ensure the facility is kept clean and free of hazards; and follow AWSA and Health, Safety & Environmental policies and procedures.

General Responsibilities
Operations & Inventory Management
• Safely performing operations duties to serve customers such as blending and loading fertilizer, unloading and loading seed and agricultural chemical products.
• Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup according to schedule (load, pack, wrap, label, ship)
• Work with the General Manager & Crop Nutrients CSR/Logistics Coordinator to lead and implement an effective inventory management program. Strive to minimize damages, prevent unplanned condition problems, meet customer requirements and ensure high standards are maintained.
• Prioritize assignments and projects to ensure completion within established timeframes and by expected deadlines.
• Diagnose mechanical and/or electrical malfunctions. Plan and/or perform wide variety of repairs on plant facilities and equipment by disassembling and locating the cause of operational difficulties and replacing or repairing worn or broken parts.
• Coordinate delivery or pick up of product with Account Managers and the customer
• Work with Administration to ensure inventory is accurate & control inventory levels by conducting physical counts
• Assure that the location’s inventory is optimized to meet customer’s requirements

Safety
• Ensure the yard, equipment and any buildings of CMN’s are kept clean and free of hazards.
• Ensure proper PPE/equipment/training/ safety measures are provided to contractors, existing and new/seasonal staff.
• Handle all products with appropriate care; following all WHIMIS standards, refer to Safety Data Sheets and TDG standards.
• With the HS&E Coordinator, schedule regular safety meetings, inspections and complete any corrective action plans.
• Promote a culture and commitment to the safety of CMN employees, visitors, contractors and general public.
• Be aware of the Agrichemical Warehousing Standards and abide by the requirements set out by the AWSA.
• Perform and document frequent yard, tank, sheds, warehouse and equipment inspections and ensure all delegated tasks are being performed in a timely fashion.
• Ensure proactive maintenance of facilities, vehicles & equipment to guarantee a safe working environment
• Work from general procedures and in accordance with standard or recognized methods of maintenance/repair.

Qualifications

• Minimum Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in agri-business and/or other related customer service function
• Effective time management, planning and multi-tasking skills
• Computer skills in Microsoft (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.) and accounting/inventory systems

• Be self-motivated, a self-starter and be well organized, must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must have ability to follow safety, production and quality requirements
• Ability to meet the company’s policy requirements by completing a criminal background check, and drivers abstract
